Now Is Information Overload Clean Up Day For Me

Monday morning I fill tired, probably because I work 6 hays and a half per week. The body does his math and decides that the time off is not enough! But I don’t want to lose Mondays as working days and usually I create a list to do easy to accomplish for them. This Monday will be Information Overload clean up day.

Internet Marketing is full of contradictions, isn’t it?
Like:
  • Everybody on our Planet tries to sell something to you but some people will tell you “Info Overload will hurt you”
  • All gurus and not only they will tell you how wonderful is to start as an Affiliate Marketer. Ok, when you start to do it you find out that affiliate links are prohibited in: Forums, Ezines, Blogs and so on. Except Squidoo almost everybody turns a cold shoulder on affiliate links.
  • If you ask, how I should drive traffic, the response is Forum, Ezines, Blogs, PPC and Web 2.0 (From 5 choices: 3 are prohibited, PPC is risky for beginners, Web 2.0 is Ok but not everybody knows how to do it.) What a nice and clear cut response you got!
  • A couple of years ago, I attended a seminar in which I found out that Affiliate Marketing was the best think invented by humans since the sliced bread. At the lunch table I asked how many newbie succeed in Affiliate Marketing, the response was 5%. WOW! What an encouraging response for a newbie.

Now I am not a newbie but I am still learning and I still don’t have all the answers. To some degree, I can separate the weeds. I’ll try to share with you what I learn.

Why I need an Overload clean up day(s):

  • First I created a plan which had too many thinks to do in a short period of time – unrealistic dead lines
  • I didn’t kick the habit of working in more then one project at a time – I did 60% but definitely I have to discipline myself to work on just one project from top to bottom 100% – other wise I lose the focus and slow down entire process
  • I have to learn to say NO from time to time. This is easy to say not as easy to implement.

As a result of all the above I cumulate “staff” which is not 100% well documented, or at list labeled, some never opened. Now I want to list some Digital Products on a website and eBay, and it is hard to find what I want. I need to delete, relabeled and documented all I have or I am going to work in jungle the rest of the year.

In short I need some time to clean the mess I created. I also decided to be more selective with what I want to buy from now on. Sound strange to hear something like this from a person who is doing Affiliate Marketing. Isn’t it!

Well, this is my point. Overflow Info is not going to directly hurt you, but indirectly it will because:

  • It will interrupt your focus
  • Slow you down, at list 2-3 new DP will appear every day
  • Confuse some issues reading 2-3 ebooks at the same time

My take on this is:

  • You have to have a very well done work plan
  • Take just one task at a time, solve the task, and don’t jump to the next one until you completely finish the first one
  • Don’t let anybody interrupt you
  • Don’t work to more then one project at a time
  • Follow just one leader at a time
  • Learn from my own mistake

In 3 words: focus, hard work, and consistency

By the way, this week Terry Dean will publish “Traffic secrets 2.0”, I am sure it is a great product but everybody under the sun will promote the product.

I am not going to promote but for people who don’t know Terry Dean, I’ll help you to find out more about Terry and this way I’ll help you decide if this is a product for you or not.
I consider this is a good friendly help, because “Traffic Secrets 2.0” is expensive and what I offer you cost 2 Starbuck coffees ($10.00).

If you don’t know Terry, I think you better spend 10 bucks to find out who he is vs. spending hundreds of dollars for a product of an unknown author.
If you know Terry you already made your mind.

I think his product is excellent but different people have different needs, and you have to decide for yourself, first discover Terry Dean

All the best
