Internet Marketing Training For Beginners Eric Holmlund

If you are thinking about starting an Internet Marketing (IM) business you have a lot of resources available in a range from poor to excellent and, I know, it is hard to choose a leader to follow.
I suggest learning from someone who is a real expert, someone who has failed at times, and someone who’s not afraid to tell you what you don’t want to hear.

My personal recommendation is Eric’s online course, it is a FREE training, and it will take you from level zero as a beginner until you succeed in your on-line business.

Being free, you can go in and get out when you want, but I’ll bet you will fall in love with Eric’s knowledge, his considering attitude, his dedication to give and share with others, and for sure he is a person not afraid to tell you the true about Internet Marketing.

He planed a cycle of around 120 lessons starting with the necessary info to build an on-line business from A – Z.

If you are not a beginner you must bear with Eric through the basics and take advantage only of the advanced techniques which will follow later. Each lesson has a video and a text with main points and action steps to follow.

To help you to jump accordingly with your level, I’ll tell you what was done up till now (July 24, 2008).
Eric starts with:
  • What is an on-line business?
  • Outline a lot of ways to make money on-line
  • What is the difference between self employed and business owner?
  • The basic computer skills you need to have
  • What mean to think as a marketer – lesson #12 - this is the point I recommend to start if you are not a novice
  • Create your own vision of your business
  • Setting goals for your business
  • Create a business plan – lesson #15 - this is a mandatory point to start, but at least listen the videos starting with “think as a marketer”.

This is where he is now and if you don’t investigate this source quickly, 10 lessons forward can be too late and hard to catch up.

To your success

Now Is Information Overload Clean Up Day For Me

Monday morning I fill tired, probably because I work 6 hays and a half per week. The body does his math and decides that the time off is not enough! But I don’t want to lose Mondays as working days and usually I create a list to do easy to accomplish for them. This Monday will be Information Overload clean up day.

Internet Marketing is full of contradictions, isn’t it?
Like:
  • Everybody on our Planet tries to sell something to you but some people will tell you “Info Overload will hurt you”
  • All gurus and not only they will tell you how wonderful is to start as an Affiliate Marketer. Ok, when you start to do it you find out that affiliate links are prohibited in: Forums, Ezines, Blogs and so on. Except Squidoo almost everybody turns a cold shoulder on affiliate links.
  • If you ask, how I should drive traffic, the response is Forum, Ezines, Blogs, PPC and Web 2.0 (From 5 choices: 3 are prohibited, PPC is risky for beginners, Web 2.0 is Ok but not everybody knows how to do it.) What a nice and clear cut response you got!
  • A couple of years ago, I attended a seminar in which I found out that Affiliate Marketing was the best think invented by humans since the sliced bread. At the lunch table I asked how many newbie succeed in Affiliate Marketing, the response was 5%. WOW! What an encouraging response for a newbie.

Now I am not a newbie but I am still learning and I still don’t have all the answers. To some degree, I can separate the weeds. I’ll try to share with you what I learn.

Why I need an Overload clean up day(s):

  • First I created a plan which had too many thinks to do in a short period of time – unrealistic dead lines
  • I didn’t kick the habit of working in more then one project at a time – I did 60% but definitely I have to discipline myself to work on just one project from top to bottom 100% – other wise I lose the focus and slow down entire process
  • I have to learn to say NO from time to time. This is easy to say not as easy to implement.

As a result of all the above I cumulate “staff” which is not 100% well documented, or at list labeled, some never opened. Now I want to list some Digital Products on a website and eBay, and it is hard to find what I want. I need to delete, relabeled and documented all I have or I am going to work in jungle the rest of the year.

In short I need some time to clean the mess I created. I also decided to be more selective with what I want to buy from now on. Sound strange to hear something like this from a person who is doing Affiliate Marketing. Isn’t it!

Well, this is my point. Overflow Info is not going to directly hurt you, but indirectly it will because:

  • It will interrupt your focus
  • Slow you down, at list 2-3 new DP will appear every day
  • Confuse some issues reading 2-3 ebooks at the same time

My take on this is:

  • You have to have a very well done work plan
  • Take just one task at a time, solve the task, and don’t jump to the next one until you completely finish the first one
  • Don’t let anybody interrupt you
  • Don’t work to more then one project at a time
  • Follow just one leader at a time
  • Learn from my own mistake

In 3 words: focus, hard work, and consistency

By the way, this week Terry Dean will publish “Traffic secrets 2.0”, I am sure it is a great product but everybody under the sun will promote the product.

I am not going to promote but for people who don’t know Terry Dean, I’ll help you to find out more about Terry and this way I’ll help you decide if this is a product for you or not.
I consider this is a good friendly help, because “Traffic Secrets 2.0” is expensive and what I offer you cost 2 Starbuck coffees ($10.00).

If you don’t know Terry, I think you better spend 10 bucks to find out who he is vs. spending hundreds of dollars for a product of an unknown author.
If you know Terry you already made your mind.

I think his product is excellent but different people have different needs, and you have to decide for yourself, first discover Terry Dean

All the best

14 Traffic Conversion Tips You NEED To Know.

The traffic is our big obsession now; and the most questions I get are related with the traffic tips

Marketing on the Internet is straight forward rule. You must capture the attention of visitors to your site and convert them to customers. Does that sound fairly simple? Well, it is if you pay attention to the details - and the devil is always in the details! Here are the top traffic conversion secrets revealed.
  1. Try to capture the attention of visitors from the title, subtitle, and from the first paragraph as well. This means you need good keys and long tail keys in all three. But balance them, don’t abuse them, don’t spam them.
  2. Make the offer more than once in your sales page. The more the offer is made, the greater the chances are that an uncertain "window shopper" will pull out their wallet and take you up on it. Don’t be cheap with the lures. Sprinkle the bait in as many places as appropriate. You do this talking about the benefits not about the features. Try to make a clear cut between them.
  3. A common term used in marketing is the "Unique Selling Proposition" or USP. What is different about your offer that the customer should choose your product over your competition? Why is your product better? Refine the answer to these questions in a brief explanation. You need just one or two sentences.
  4. Do not overwhelm your potential customers with too many offers on the same page. If you have more than one product, then use a different sale or squeeze page for each one. Customers are attracted to the simple offers that have enough information available for them to make a decision.
  5. Construct your sales or squeeze page so that it is easy on the eyes. Leave some open space and wide margins. "White space" brings the reader's attention to the offer and creates a small time to think. It isn't necessary to fill up every last bit of space on a page.
  6. Ask your visitors to share their views on your product. Putting a product evaluation or survey or a poll on your site gives your visitors a reason to interact with you. Don't be afraid to ask for support. Getting such input will prove invaluable and will keep the potential customer on your site longer. Longer visits mean longer exposure to the benefits of the product.
  7. Consider the benefits, the problems your product can solve. When your squeeze page is finished, don't stop thinking about the problems your product can solve. Here is another opportunity to ask for input from your buyers. Ask them how they use the product. You could discover new promotion tactics.
  8. When you have testimonials and recommendations from past customers, and then allow them boast about the product for you. Post these on your page in prominent positions. If you have earned the bragging rights, don't be shy about it, but be sure you earned the attention, respect, and notoriety as well.
  9. Videos and audios are the best testimonials.
  10. If you use highlighting on your sales page, keep it toned down. This can be an excellent tool when you want to draw a visitor's attention to something in particular. However, too much of a good thing will send your visitors away. Lots of colors and over highlighting tend to annoy the casual visitor.
  11. When someone is convinced enough to buy your product, don't forget to thank them! Courtesy costs nothing and has the potential to turn first time customers into loyal customers. All customers will enjoy knowing that they are truly appreciated. Make your "Thank You" page personal and sincere show your human face.
  12. It never hurts to ask. It also doesn't hurt to ask again. If you want people to order your product then simply ask them to order. Put this request several times throughout your sale page. There is no such thing as asking too many times.
  13. Create a sense of urgency. Offer a limited time bonus package if the visitor acts immediately or a time sensitive reason you offer something free. Offering bonuses with a purchase is very popular.
  14. Cut the hype, bragging, and don’t fake it until you make it, the people use them so long, now you potential customer will notice these tactics. Writing sales copy does not need to include fantastic claims and slick sales tactics. Try not to sound like a television commercial. Your tone should be as one friend talking to another. Think about the individual person who is visiting your site and talk to that person alone. Speak as a friend sharing some great news.
These methods for creating a highly converting sales page will work whether you're a new or experienced marketer. Consider this short list as a blue print of creating sales copy for your products.

To your success
